A safe and confidential group setting to lend support for grandparents raising grandchildren. Meetings will be structured to the benefit of the group. The group focus is to help grandparents with self-care, receiving and giving support, gain and share information. Speaker topics include, but are not limited to, custody/guardianship, finances, grief support, education and discipline.
Grandparents (including those helping to raise their grandchildren) learn basic computer skills in order to access school information, healthcare, and support services. The sessions can be one-to-one or in small groups, whichever is best for the grandparents' schedules. Families receive books for the grandchildren to support reading and literacy.
YSB’s Reunification Services provides reunification and/or permanency services to children who have entered out-of-home care.
