In August 2006, Penn State faculty members participated in Uniting the Generations: Japan Conference to Promote Intergenerational Programs and Practices.

The Interinstitutional Consortium for Indigenous Knowledge, known as ICIK, is located at The Pennsylvania State University. ICIK is part of a global network comprised of more than 20 indigenous knowledge resource centers in North and South America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Oceania. ICIK is the only currently-active indigenous knowledge resource center located in the United States.

For the Spring 2022 and Maymester 2022 semesters, Penn State University students (enrolled in AEE 499) were introduced to the IG (intergenerational) studies field, explored applications in their field(s) of interest, and met IG specialists who are doing innovative, evidence-based work in Spain. Course design and implementation took form via a collaborative effort between the Penn State Schreyer Honors College, Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences, and University of Granada (Spain).
This impressive curriculum - developed by Ashoka's New Longevity team and the Grandmother Collective - provides "a roadmap inspired by the wisdom of visionary leaders who are helping transform how we interact across generations." A collection of resources and insights from pioneering and inspiring intergenerational initiatives unfolding on the global stage.
This article, posted on the "Euro Cities" website, highlights some of the 170 intergenerational projects, events and activities taking place in the city of Ghent. The Project leader - Bie Hinnekint (bie.hinnekint@stad.gent) - is based in the Ghent city government (Health and Care Agency).
