Penn State University’s Kinship Care Resources Go National

Posted: March 19, 2011

Penn State resources can now be found on the eXtension Family Caregiving website

Please note the following resources that were developed by Penn State Extension and recently revised and posted on the eXtension Family Caregiving website:

  • The Grandparents Raising Grandchildren: Doubly Stressed, Triply Blessed curriculum is an online resource which highlights issues faced by relative caregiver families as well as some of the programs available to them.
  • Conducting a Kinship Family Retreat is a guide for assisting professionals in designing and implementing a weekend retreat for relative caregivers and their children. These retreats provide a safe, stress-free setting for family members to spend time together and strengthen their relationships. This resource was developed by Nancy Crago, Ph.D., who recently retired from Penn State Extension at Allegheny County with 30+ years of service as Family and Consumer Sciences Educator.
  • Making Healthy Eating a Family Affair

As you may know, eXtension is an interactive learning environment delivering research-based information from land-grant universities across the U.S. It is “a space where university content providers can gather and produce new educational and information resources on wide-ranging topics.” View the resources on the eXtension Family Caregiving website.
