On Demand is Mobile-friendly!

What's changing?

We are saying goodbye to the beloved book layout that you have come to know over the past ten years. We're excited to share a design refresh that adapts to any device. No longer limited to a larger screen on a laptop or desktop, you can learn anywhere.

A new visual layout of our course content makes learning on any device possible. The updated layout allows the content to reflow and adapt to the size of your screen. You won't lose any progress in a course or work toward a CDA! The high-quality content will stay the same along with the course completion process you have become familiar with.

Furthermore, you can start a course on one device then log in on another and continue where you left off. We have focused on our learners' experience and strive to make education accessible no matter where or how you learn. What could be better than Better Kid Care professional development anywhere you go? Still the same low cost for a course completion certificate!

New navigation features

Another update to the On Demand platform is the navigation. 

Page navigation

The top navigation menu looks different but has the same options. You will always see options for "Course List," "My In-Progress Courses," "My Completed Courses," and the user profile icon at the top. Under the user profile icon, you can still view profile information, payment options, BKC contact information, or sign out. On mobile devices and smaller screens, you will see a new button in the top right that opens all navigation menu options.

On Demand navigation is located at the top of every page. On a larger screen you will see the familiar user profile icon that opens a drop-down menu. When viewing on smaller screens, there is an icon that opens the navigation menu.

Course navigation

Within the new course page layout, you will notice the "Previous" and "Next" navigation buttons are always at the bottom of your screen, on any device. This allows effortless navigation through course content. While viewing on a mobile device or a tablet, the previous and next navigation buttons will appear as arrows and not display the words. You will also see what page you are on within a course and the total number of pages until completion of the assessment.

Completing a course is still the same familiar process: You read the course content while watching videos and completing the response boxes. When completing the final assessment questions to receive a completion certificate, you will see the "Review related content" button has been moved to the bottom of your screen near the "Back" and "Next" navigation buttons.

To navigate within a course, use the buttons at the bottom of your screen. When taking a final assessment, the "Review related content" button and "Return" are now located at the bottom of your screen.
