#6: You enjoy videos from real classroom experts.

BKC's team filming in the field
Over our ten years of providing relevant online learning experiences, we have learned that ECE/OST professionals enjoy videos, especially videos from real classrooms and experts.
- After watching a video from "Adventurous Play: The Whys and Hows," where a teacher shows some vestibular-stimulating experiences with 2-year-olds, one educator commented, "This video…does reframe my thoughts about active, fidgety children because they are only active and fidgety because they crave a movement and the only way to help solve the crave is to do the movement."
- Another teacher shared that she was "going to try the recipes at home first and then use them in the classroom as a lesson in math, nutrition, and social science" after viewing a video in "Nourish Yourself, Create Health Futures: Your Journey to Wellness" where a child care center chef is teaching parents how to make homemade granola bars.
Many people say "seeing is believing." This supports Better Kid Care's Know-See-Do-Improve model of learning. We know that seeing an example of something helps a person to believe that doing it is possible. Just reading about an idea is easier to dismiss. We hope you'll be inspired to try something because an educator was vulnerable and allowed our cameras to record them in action, doing the brave work of supporting children as they grow.
Looking for more videos showing childcare professionals in best practices? We have more than two dozen vodcasts (short videos that weave relevant topics and research-based content with interviews and authentic experiences caring for children) on our website.
