This module provides information on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines specific to child care programs and offers insight into trauma-informed approaches to meet the current needs of children and their caregivers. The REDI (Research-based, Developmentally Informed) Program is a preschool classroom curriculum program that combines social-emotional, and language and literacy curriculum components to support children's school readiness.
- REDI BKC Module 1
The topics in this module include: an overview of the REDI Program, supporting social-emotional learning, promoting language skills and reading readiness, and teaching the first REDI lessons. (K5.5 C1) 2 hours - REDI BKC Module 2
The topics in this module include: how emotions develop in early childhood, presenting the Preschool feeling lessons, talking about feelings in the classroom, and using interactive reading to build language skills. (K2.13 C1) 2 hours - REDI BKC Module 3
The topics in this module include: developing self-control, presenting the Turtle Technique, helping children use "Turtle" effectively, and discussing why things happen. (K2.13 C1) 2 hours - REDI BKC Module 4
The topics in this module include: nurturing a positive classroom climate, building children's thinking skills, motivating children to do the right thing, and using problem-solving dialogue. (K2.13 C1) 2 hours
The REDI coaching model involves the use of specific strategies and processes to help teachers move from understanding the REDI program to practicing it effectively in the classroom.
- Coaching Module 1 REDI BKC
In this coaching module the topics include: defining the coaching process, monitoring and observing lessons, and assessment tools and their use in coaching. (D6.12 C2) 1 hour - Coaching Module 2 REDI BKC
In this coaching module, the topics include goal-setting and planning with teachers using the REDI Program Benchmarks to provide feedback. (D6.12 C2) 1 hour - Coaching Module 3 REDI BKC
