About Me
I am a Ford Foundation International fellow pursuing an MS degree study at Penn State University. I am standing next to Linda Strumpf, Ford Foundation Vice President and Chief Investment Officer based in New York City. The rest of the Ford fellows at Penn State University are also in the College of Agricultural Sciences. The African lady is a Ph.D candidate in Plant Pathology. The Chinese fellows are master's students in Rural Sociology and Agricultural Economics.
Atmosphere
My choice of Penn State University as a Ford fellow was great. I had to choose between Michigan State University and Penn State. Penn State emphasizes my area of interest (Leadership Development). Secondly, Penn State was highly recommended by my mentor while in Africa. The culture of academic excellence and human dignity is highly promoted at Penn State and other institutions in the United States of America. I love every thing about Penn State. Moreover, the setting (environment) is very clean and well maintained. This is important for my personal growth and development socially and academically. These positive images of Penn State promote its outstanding international reputation.
