Faculty members in the department are something to talk about. They talk to you with such familiarity like you were part of their family. They make you feel like at your home. That is really important when you are far from your country.
What I learned
My eyes have been open to the rest of the world. There are many international graduate students, all of them sharing their experiences and their culture. That makes you travel to places that you haven't visited.
