Tara currently serves as Center Support for the Center for Economic and Community Development in the Department of Agricultural Economics, Sociology, and Education at Penn State University's College of Agricultural Sciences. Tara started this position in March, 2026.

Previously, Tara served as the Program Coordinator for the Pennsylvania Rural-Urban Leadership Program from November 2003 to February 2026. Tara has a degree in Business Administration, Management, and Marketing. She graduated from Leadership Centre County in 2003. Tara received the Ambassador Award in May of 2015 and the Spirit Award in June of 2024 from the College of Agricultural Sciences. In October of 2019, Tara received the International Association of Programs for Agricultural Leaders (IAPAL) Program Support Award. Tara is the first recipient of this award in IAPAL.

Tara, along with her two daughters, Taylor (16) and Morgan (13), reside in Centre Hall, Centre County. Tara volunteers for the Penns Valley Lady Ram’s Basketball Booster Club. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, rock climbing, and gravel biking.
