Jason Scott Entsminger is an Assistant Research Professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics, Sociology, and Education at Penn State University. He serves as the Associate Director of the Northeast Regional Center for Rural Development (NERCRD), one of four such Centers in the U.S. established by the Rural Development Act of 1972. In his role at NERCRD, Dr. Entsminger helps lead programming that serves regional priorities in research and Extension activities related to community and economic development through collaborative partnerships and capacity building efforts. His primary field of specialization is organizational economics, where he investigates topics that help understand entrepreneurial cooperation and the use of collective economic strategies. In addition, he conducts applied research that addresses topics of regional and national importance to the prosperity and well-being of rural communities. Dr. Entsminger had more than 15 years of experience across research, teaching, and Extension related to agricultural and food systems, economic development, and entrepreneurship.
