Project description: For this USDA-funded project, the study team is using retailer-based and household-based scanner data to estimate dynamic consumer demand models for various "vice" and "virtue" food-product categories. By accounting for past behavior and future expectations, these model will show whether or not individuals are behaving as if they are addicted to various unhealthy foods. Moreover, the study team will incorporate health data to investigate whether these behaviors differ by BMI or obesity classification.
