Majors

Agribusiness Management Major

The Agribusiness Management program has all the rigor and competencies gained in a traditional business degree, with a hands-on focus on the unique challenges of agriculture. Students complete coursework at the Penn State Smeal College of Business, and apply those concepts in the small, supportive environment of the College of Agriculture.

Agricultural and Extension Education Major

Learn to teach the next generation of agricultural professionals through an immersive, education in the fundamentals of agriculture and hands-on mastery of the competencies of an expert educator. AEE majors complete a 15-week student teaching internship andearn a Pennsylvania teaching certificate.

Agricultural Science Major

Develop a strong background in the full spectrum of ag disciplines, ranging from science, to business, to emerging trends. Agricultural Science students aren’t just generalists. They complement their ag education by digging into a particular discipline with the laser focus of a mandatory minor.

Community, Environment, and Development Major

Learn core knowledge and skills needed to address the challenges and opportunities facing communities at home and around the world. CED students complete coursework in economics and sociology with a strong emphasis on problem-solving, and apply these skills to issues such as sustainability, land use, local foods, economic development, and environmental protection.
