New USDA map explores what’s working in rural opioid programming

The interactive map can be viewed at www.usda.gov/topics/opioids/resources-map. USDA staff collects the information displayed on the interactive map through the “What’s working in your town?” form that is also on the webpage and are now actively working with rural communities and leaders to populate this database.

If you have a success story to share, visit the page and fill out the “What’s working in your town?” form.

The map page also features a new series of video interviews conducted at the USDA roundtable events that are being held across the country to gather rural stakeholders together in efforts to battle problems caused by opioid misuse. The videos feature the different perspectives of audience members. Here’s a preview of one from the Kentucky event: https://youtu.be/zgv33Z5JFHY

The next USDA opioid roundtable is scheduled for July 9, 2018 in Bangor, Maine. A YouTube playlist with all the USDA Opioid Roundtables is available at: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLwtRQQ0pVhiVEAT239Pu0QOz31kgN2HzV.
