Career Opportunities with CivicSpark: A Governor's Initiative AmeriCorps Program

For CED Graduating Seniors: CivicSpark is a Governor’s Initiative AmeriCorps program dedicated to building capacity for local governments to address climate, water, and opportunity access issues. The program is currently recruiting 90 recent college graduates who are interested in gaining professional experience and developing technical skills while creating a meaningful and lasting impact. During their 11-month service year, Fellows will complete research, planning, or implementation projects that provide local government agencies the support they need to advance their sustainability and water initiatives.

 Are you interested in gaining experience in the sustainability or water field and effecting positive change at the local government level? If so, CivicSpark, a Governor’s Initiative AmeriCorps program, is right for you! CivicSpark is dedicated to building capacity for local governments to address community resilience issues such as climate, water, and access to opportunities. During the 2018-19 service year, 90 CivicSpark Fellows will support over 100 cities, schools, and other public agencies to implement local sustainability projects on topics including sustainable transportation, energy efficiency, climate action planning, water conservation and drought response, and affordable housing, among others. Fellows gain exceptional career experience, training to become future leaders in California’s response to community resilience issues.
