Rural Sociology MS students Leslie Pillen and Kathleen Wood have each won competitive grants from the USDA's Northeast Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education Program to support their thesis projects.  Pillen's project is "A Comparative Assessment of Land Link Programs in the Northeast Region."  Wood's project is "The Human Cost of Food: Sustaining Farm Labor Using Alternative Labor Practices on Diversified Farms in Pennsylvania."  This year NE-SARE funded 20 graduate student projects out of 54 submitted proposals.  Congratulations, Leslie and Kathleen!
