The Community and Regional Development Institute (CaRDI) at Cornell University announced last month that its Executive Director Rod Howe has stepped down from his role there to become the new Executive Director of the History Center of Tompkins County, NY.

In recognition of his "sustained and superior service in planning, managing, and delivering CaRDI's educational programs which contribute to informed decision making in communities throughout NYS," Howe was awarded the institute’s David J. Allee and Paul R. Eberts 2015 Community and Economic Vitality Award. The award was presented on February 26.

Howe served Cornell Cooperative Extension for nearly 25 years, starting in Cayuga County in 1990 and moving to Extension Administration in 1997. He has held his most recent combined CCE/CaRDI position since 2000. A short article about Howe's new position recently was published in the Ithaca Journal.

We are grateful for Rod's many years of service, and we wish him well in his new role!
