  • Transatlantic Land Use Conference

Washington, DC; September 24-26, 2007. Co-sponsored by NERCRD with LEI, NASULGC, and others. Held to explore the causes and consequences of current land use trends and dynamics related to society, economy and environment; to identify the major drivers of land use; and to address the question of what will happen if we keep doing what we are doing now. The conference also sought to identify alternative measures that could be used to strengthen the sustainable use of natural resources in rural and suburban areas.
  • Northeast Extension Land Use Strategic Planning Retreat (NEELUN)

Philadelphia, PA; October, 2006. Held for researchers and extension faculty and educators to meet and develop a three year plan for multi-state land use research and extension programming. Selected attendees continue to network via listservs and conference calls.
