Admission to the Major

How to apply to the Agricultural and Extension Education major

Future Penn State Students

Current Penn State Students

  • Students who meet the entry-to-major criteria for their choice of major can apply for entrance to that major by using LionPATH “Update Academics.”
  • The major exists in the College of Agricultural Sciences

Course Requirements

  • For the Production and Environmental Science options: same as any other teacher certification program (3.00 GPA and course requirements of EDPSY 104, EDTHP 115, CHEM 101 or 110, BIOL 110, and STAT 200). Anyone not meeting the requirements will be reviewed on a case by case basis.

Not at University Park Campus?

All students who begin their studies at a Penn State commonwealth campus are expected to complete their first two years at that campus. In general, students enroll at their starting campus until reaching fifth-semester standing, as long as the campus can continue to provide a viable academic schedule of classes which will not delay their major plan sequencing.
