EFSNE project newsletter off to a successful start
Posted: February 17, 2014
Since the Northeast Center's signature food systems research project, "Enhancing Food Security in the Northeast through Regional Food Systems," formally launched its newsletter in January, more than 300 interested consumers, producers, researchers, cooperative extension staff, students, and others have subscribed. The newsletter, which is emailed to subscribers on a quarterly basis, will provide updates from each of the project's research groups and also will offer a look at the project's education and outreach activities.
The EFSNE project is a USDA-funded Agriculture and Food Research Initiative (AFRI) project that seeks to determine whether greater reliance on regionally produced food could improve food access and affordability in disadvantaged communities, while also benefiting farmers, food supply chain firms and others in the food system.
