Small Farm Clusters Program

A three-year project, which ran from 2005-2008, that examined how small-farm industry clusters could improve the vitality of small US farms and rural communities.

This project (1) examined how "clusters" of small farms achieve agricultural economic development and environmental management objectives, (2) identified how clusters support long-term farm viability and community sustainability, (3) engaged farmers and development professionals in research and outreach and (4) used powerful computer algorithms to analyze and understand social networks.
